Bitcoin will be making its planned debut at America’s most famous car race, the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday.
IndyCar has confirmed 35 entries have been accepted for this year’s Indianapolis 500, meaning two drivers will not qualify for the 33-car field.
Juan pablo montoya returns to car racing
Nine former winners will contest this month’s event including Juan Pablo Montoya, who is returning to the Brickyard with McLaren SP.

cLaughlin , Pietro Fittipaldi and RC Enerson ) will try to compete in the car race for the first time.
Romain Grosjean, who joined the IndyCar series from Formula 1 this year, is not participating in the race as he is only racing in the road and street course rounds.
Fittipaldi will drive his car, as he did in Texas.

IndyCar Series team Ed Carpenter Racing’s (ECR) No. 21 Bitcoin Chevrolet will line up at the starting line along with 32 other cars at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, also called the Brickyard, so named for the pavers that lined the course in its early years.

Carpenter has Bitcoins

The racing team is also the first in Indy racing to offer its employees the option of accepting bitcoin as a payment option.
Carpenter said that he chose 21 to denote the 21 million bitcoin that Satoshi Nakamoto created in launching his digital currency.
VeeKay will start in the first row in Sunday’s race after averaging over 231MPH in qualifying runs last week.
